Newey & Eyre Take Top Title

Chris Gaff of Newey & Eyre accepting the award from Gary Edwards, National Frameworks Director, Lorne Stewart plc.
Newey & Eyre, one of the UK’s leading electrical distributors, has scooped the Lorne Stewart plc Project SLAM 2008 Distributor of the Year Award — the third time the company has won, in the five years the award has been made.
The winners are chosen by Lorne Stewart engineers and site supervisors, who are invited to vote in a secret ballot for the distributor they feel has offered them the best service during the year. Newey & Eyre proved to be the best, through its ability to provide a second–to–none site service and ensuring that each engineer has a personal contact within the branch to work with.
Project SLAM is a Defence Estates project which is being rolled out across England and Wales. Running since 2002 and with at least five years remaining, it aims to progressively update the single living accommodation to the MOD’s Grade 1 physical condition, in order to provide servicemen and women with the first–rate living environment they deserve.
In addition to scooping the top team award, project manager for Newey & Eyre, Chris Gaff, was awarded second place in the best individual category.
Of the team achievement Chris explained:
Quality and reliability is important to the Defence Estates and winning this award for a third time proves our status as a leading supplier. We have been working with Lorne Stewart for six years and with a number of other major distributors supplying the project alongside us, to be recognised with this award again is a magnificent achievement.
It reflects the commitment from the Newey & Eyre branches involved, whose dedication and hard work have been the force behind our award win. Therefore congratulations must be given to the Stockton, Peterborough, Southampton, Exeter, Plymouth and Truro branches.
