Leading electrical wholesaler Newey & Eyre has secured a four year contract to supply specialist products and consumables to one of the world’s top steel manufacturing companies, Tata Steel UK.
Newey & Eyre will be providing electrical products, including spares and energy saving lighting systems, to all Tata Steel UK sites as part the multi-national organisation’s inventory and stores optimisation (ISO) project. The scheme has been designed to increase the value added from suppliers and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
The contract was awarded following detailed analysis by more than 30 Tata engineers located in south Wales and the north east. While the emphasis is on cost saving, the value and commitment from Newey & Eyre to work with every site across the country to ensure availability of products and eliminate duplication purchases was key to the contract win.
