Make Healthy Profits With Innovative Antimicrobial Ranges At Newey & Eyre

Model of influenza virus hemagglutinin
With recent media coverage on the spread of ‘superbugs’ in health institutions continuing to spark demand for electrical products that can improve hygiene in the sector, Newey & Eyre is offering a comprehensive range to help contractors and installers meet this developing requirement.
Utilising its unrivalled relationship with key manufacturers, the leading electrical wholesaler supplies both market–leading ranges of anti–microbial cable management systems and wiring accessories.
Designed for use in areas where hygiene is a priority, Newey & Eyre offers the pioneering Marshall–Tufflex range of cable management systems with antimicrobial properties. Available throughout Newey & Eyre’s national network, the Marshall–Tufflex Bio range of perimeter trunking is made of a unique PVC–U treated with a silver–based material. This delivers ongoing antimicrobial properties that prevent 99.9%% of harmful bacteria growth, without impacting the effectiveness of the trunking itself, even if scratched or damaged. The systems have been tested to ISO 22196:2007 and are compliant with the European Biocideal Products Directive (BDP).
Newey & Eyre also supplies an equally innovative choice of anti–microbial wiring accessories to offer a further line of defence in the fight to reduce hospital acquired infections. The comprehensive Logic Plus range from MK incorporates a high grade thermoset material with similar inherent properties to antimicrobial additives, helping to significantly inhibit the growth of infectious diseases, making it a vital tool in the healthcare sector. The product even incorporates a scratch–free design, ensuring there are no dirt traps for bacteria to breed.
Similarly, Crabtree’s new and exceptional antibacterial range of white moulded wiring accessories use the BioCote® anti–microbial surface treatment to offer a further line of defence in the fight to reduce hospital acquired infections (HAI). They can now be supplied as individual items, or as part of a larger sub–assembly and include both switched and un–switched socket outlets, fused connection units and light switches.
As a further aid to those working in the healthcare environment, Newey & Eyre offers additional MK products designed to meet requirements listed under the Introduction of the Medical Electrical Installation Guidance Notes (MEIGaN), as implemented by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in September 2007. Key solutions include single and double gang socket outlets. These are available in either switched or unswitched, and suitable for both new build and retrofit applications.
Chris Tranter, product category manager at Newey & Eyre comments:
With increased media scrutiny and the introduction of the MEIGaN, the healthcare sector is under massive pressure to take a more considered approach to every electrical product choice which, in turn, is passed on to the installer. Representing a new generation of anti–microbial electrical solutions, the Marshall Tufflex, Crabtree and MK ranges offer our customers a way to meet this evolving requirement, while also providing an effective way to maximise profit margins.
Newey & Eyre has 160+ branches and 20,000 product lines in stock at any one time, holding more major brands than any other electrical wholesaler. For more information on Newey & Eyre’s anti–microbial products pop into your nearest branch or call 0845 123 6539.
