Profit From Digital Changeover With New TV Range From Newey & Eyre
As the digital changeover progresses, Newey & Eyre has launched a brand new range of digital TV products, designed to open up a new profit opportunity for electricians and contractors.
The nationwide switch to digital TV started last year, with the government regionally switching off all analogue broadcasts by 2012. This means many households will need to upgrade their aerial to receive a digital signal and watch TV. In total, OfCom has estimated more than 10 per cent of existing outdoor aerials will need replacing and a further 20 per cent will need upgrading, meaning up to eight million UK homes may require new outdoor aerials. This presents a valuable additional revenue stream for contractors who are able to supply and fit digital TV aerials.
To help its customers to take advantage, Newey & Eyre has teamed up with market–leader, Philex, to offer a new range of digital aerials and accessories designed to meet every type of requirement, including a FREESAT free–to–air satellite kit and decoder. This optimum kit offers everything needed to receive free–to–air satellite TV, including a 60cm dish, receiver and cable, as well as a compass and signal strength meter for easier pin point dish alignment. This enables customers to receive access to hundreds of digital channels without the subscription.
Alternatively, Newey & Eyre offers the Megaboost four–way aerial kit, incorporating a wideband aerial with built–in signal booster. Ideal for homes with multiple TVs, this comprehensive solution is suitable for all UK TV reception areas and provides full strength digital and analogue signals for up to four TVs. For smaller installations, the High Gain Wideband Aerial is ultra compact while still suitable for all UK TV reception areas.
It is also estimated that more than seven million UK homes use indoor aerials, which may not work at all with digital. To meet this demand, Newey & Eyre offers the DigiTop amplified indoor aerial which boasts a built–in amplifier with adjustable gain for optimum performance. Further items include the Philex DVB–T signal meter designed to help installers align each aerial for the best digital reception.
Chris Tranter, product manager at Newey & Eyre comments:
Everyone knows the electrical market is still relatively stagnant, so it is important for contractors to capitalise on any new opportunities such as this. We have therefore introduced this offering which is designed to ensure our customers are able to offer a digital service. This is a way to not only maximise profitability but ensure they are ultra competitive.
